
Poppie, a German shepherd/Chow Chow mix, has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), or underdevelopment of the cerebellum. Poppie is not in pain, but the illness impairs her coordination, balance, and motor abilities. She was surrendered to a California shelter and was slated for euthanasia. Diane Ewert, a local dog rescuer from Kingsburg, California, arrived at the shelter to save the puppy. Christina Powell and Garret, from Alberta, Canada, were the right family for her after she worked hard to find her a permanent home. Timber was given a new name by the owners, and she now has a happy existence with her doggie sister Kona and a custom-built wheelchair.
